This week was pretty fun.
Kimberly Kassner from Empowermind stopped by Schoolcraft today and gave an awesome presentation, courtesy of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society and Project Playhem Gaming Society. An incredibly passionate individual, Kimberly has taught thousands of students of all ages how to learn twice as much and retain it in half the time. A huge thanks goes out to everyone who was able to make it out. Currently, planning is underway to get Empowermind at Schoolcraft so be sure to check back as I'll have some special news for Schoolcraft students looking to beat the books.
Also coming up next week November 11 at 6pm, I'll be over at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth hosting an NHL '10 tourament with their very own OHL semi-pros: the Plymouth Whalers. Last time we had 8 lucky participants that got a chance to play with their favorite Whaler in a 2v2, single elimination tournament format. As you can tell, spots are extremely limited so if you want a shot, or know someone who might, let them know about the chance and check out their website for more details. Enough about business, things have been progressing nicely around here. Midterms are a little bit of a nightmare, but nothing other than the usual pain in the butt. Work at UPS has been slow on the other hand, allowing me to stay on top of my studies while working at the tasking pace of one day a week. I guess so long as I'm able to stay partially nourished, pay my cell bill and loan, what have I got to complain about? Nothing that's what.
I don't want to spoil anything for Noize, which is Schoolcraft's big interactive entertainment event coming up in January (hosted by Project Playhem Gaming Society), but I'm pretty excited to announce our local Dance and Break Dance clubs have expressed an interest in the event... A huge shout out to students Katerina Pavlovich and Conner Waldo, respectively, for their enthusiasm and consultation.
Going more personal still, it looks like good ol' Mexx is back on the market! I don't really have much else to comment on the circumstance other than the average "there's more fish in the sea". I can't express the depths of my gratitude to my closest friends Lucas, Bayta and Lowtower. I love you guys more than you know and my life continues to be easier with you guys in it. :)
God bless you all.
